Liposuction

What is liposuction?

Liposuction is a procedure that removes fat from target areas on the body through a process of aspiration.

Fatty deposits of hereditary origin are often resistant to weight-loss regimens; as a result, liposuction may be used to “sculpt” your figure.

Do you dream of getting rid of unsightly fat?

Make an appointment to discuss if liposuction is really the best solution for you.

What results can I expect from liposuction?

Liposuction removes lipid deposits, thereby making it less likely that fat will accumulate in these areas. If you regain weight, the fat is distributed among the remaining cells, allowing you to keep your sculpted figure. That is where the term “liposculpture” comes from.

Liposuction is particularly effective for removing fat in the following areas:

  • Abdomen
  • Outer thighs
  • Thighs
  • Inner knees
  • Hips
  • Legs (calves and ankles) and arms

Please note, however, that liposuction produces better results on firm skin. Firm and elastic skin recovers its form more quickly.

What happens during the procedure?

Generally, liposuction is performed using a local anesthetic. Depending on the targeted area and volume of fat to be removed, the procedure can last from one to three hours.

The procedure consists in inserting, through tiny incisions, probes of varying sizes through which fat is suctioned.

Healing is fairly quick. However, you must wear a compression garment 24 hours a day for a period of two to four weeks.
