GYNECOLOGICAL COSMETIC SURGERY

What Are the Procedures of Gynecology Cosmetic Surgery?

Reduction of the labia minora (nymphoplasty):

By far the most common and popular procedure. In short, it involves removing the excess of the labia minora that exceeds the labia majora. If necessary, this procedure will be combined with excision of the excess skin covering the clitoris improving the aesthetic result.

The reduction or increase in the labia majora:

Depending on the need, it is possible to reduce the excess skin of the labia majora or increase their volume.

The reduction requires simple surgery that will leave little scar hidden between the labia majora and labia minora.

The augmentation is done by the injection of fat collected first most often from the abdomen. It is also possible to use fillers (hyaluronic acid). Although these obviate the need to remove fat, they will have a limited duration of effect (around 1 year).

Vaginal firming :

This procedure, also in increasing demand, consists in reducing the size of the vaginal cavity in order to obtain firming.

Depending on the degree of looseness, the procedure may be done surgically (greater looseness) or by laser (lighter sag), or a combination of the two.

Reconstruction of the postpartum perineum:

Following childbirth, it sometimes happens that the perineum (space between the vagina and anus) is thinned, weakened, contributing to the phenomenon of sagging and sometimes to hygiene problems. In this case, it is possible to “reconstruct” this region. This is a procedure that may or may not be performed in combination with vaginal firming. This is a relatively simple procedure that will provide aesthetic, functional and hygienic benefits.

Other non-surgical procedures:

There are also many procedures used alone or in combination with surgery to meet certain needs.

For example :

  • The laser can be used for vaginal tightening, whitening and tightening of the skin of the vulva area.
  • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) can be used to improve the texture of the vaginal lining and promote firming.
  • Injection of fillers can be used to increase the G-spot

How are the interventions carried out?

Depending on the needs or the extent of the surgery, the procedure will be done under local anesthesia with sedation or under general anesthesia. This is an outpatient surgery (return home the same day).

A recovery of one to two weeks will be necessary. The pain, mild to moderate, will be relieved by taking medication. There will be swelling for about 5 to 7 days. There will also be abstinence from sexual activities for a period varying from 3 to 6 weeks depending on the case.
